Winter Hawaii

Warehouse Bag / Urban Outfitters Jacket / Zara Top / H&M Skirt / Zara Boots

After some much needed breakfast at Cafe Rouge, we headed towards Greenwich market on the hunt for apples to accompany the mixed berries I had thawing away at home (boyfriend made crumble!). We must have come on the wrong day or time because the stalls were selling mainly clothing & jewellery, amongst other items. In particular, one jewellery stall stood out; the designer created beautiful pieces from silver cutlery, computer memory boards and old coins.
I don't usually like feminine prints but couldn't resist buying this skirt a couple months ago - the cut is amazing! In a bid to try and wear less monochrome recently, I tried these trousers on from Joy and was surprised at how much I liked them. I think i'm finally warming up the idea of having prints on my clothing, as well as my walls!

Tux

TUXEDO JACKET - Zara (alternative here, nice plus-size version here) / DIY LONG-LINE VEST (originally a mens t-shirt) / DISCO PANTS - American Apparel / HEELS - Zara

I will forever thank my friend NT for making me keep this tuxedo jacket. At the time of purchase I wasn't initially sure about whether I could pull it off properly or feel comfortable wearing it but now I can't seem to get it off. This outfit was one of my options for the Azealia Banks gig I went to last week but I quickly came to my senses and realised that white jacket + heels is a complete no-no for a sweaty gig. I'll show what I actually wore in my next post! :)

Leopard Lace

TUXEDO JACKET - Zara (old but I LOVE this one) / LACE SHIRT - H&M (similar here) / SKIRT - American Apparel (similar here and here) / SHOE BOOTS - Topshop

I like to think that I'm a super organised person but the reality never seems to quite match up. Today was the first time in a while that I actually took the time to plan my outfit for a night out and take pictures for my blog. Either I take the pictures on my laptop webcam or rope my poor friends into taking pictures for me when we're out (wine-induced photo taking is never advised to be honest). I'm just about to leave for my cousin's birthday - we're going for a drinks in a bar with a very 'sweaty' basement club attached! Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Black & White

DRESS (actually a Jacket) - Topshop / BLAZER - Zara (similar here and here)/ BELT - Primark

Since we haven't had much of a summer in London, I've been able to wear a lot of my autumn and winter clothes. I bought this blazer on a HUGE whim last year and to be honest I wasn't entirely sure what I would wear it with. I even considered taking it back but thank goodness for my very persuasive friend who told me that I would instantly regret it! Last weekend I went out for dinner for my friend's birthday and I somehow managed to get roped into going out until 5am. I'm definitely growing too old for this clubbing malarky because I didn't recover until a few days later. Too old in fact that i'm doing it all over again tonight! Hope you all are having a great weekend so far :)

Roxy Music

TOP - River Island (good selection here) / SKIRT - American Apparel (alternative here and here) / HEELS - Zara (old) / JEWELLERY - Topshop, Forever 21, Pulsar, Marc Jacobs

My mum always gives me funny looks when I wear this skirt, especially with the weather we've been having in London. Apparently leather + a heatwave don't go hand in hand...I, however beg to differ :) This skirt is really light and the skater fit allows for year-around wear. These Zara heels have been my only sale purchase this summer and I'm so glad I waited because I've wanted them for ages. I was initially worried about comfort because my feet love a good platform but they have become my go-to shoes when planning my outfit for a night out!

DAY TO NIGHT: White Jeans

Look 1: Day
Top: Forever 21
Cuffs: Miss Selfridge (alternatives here)
Boots: Zara (also worn here)

Look 2: Night
Top: Zara (LOVE this)
Necklace: Givenchy (similar here)
Box Bag: H&M
Heels: Steve Madden (alternative here)

The weather has been so lovely recently so I put together two different looks - for the day and night - with a pair of white jeans (also worn here) I got in the sale at River Island. For both looks, I focused on summery materials and stuck to a light, clean palette of colours. Hope you enjoy!

White Jeans

KIMONO - Zara (also worn here) / SHIRT - New Look (alternative here) / JEANS - River Island (sold out, alternative here and here)/ HEELS - Kurt Geiger

These jeans have barely stayed in my wardrobe since I got them a couple of weeks ago. I got them in the sale at River Island and they are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own. My hopes for warmer weather haven't been at all wasted because the sun has been shining in London for the past few days so my cancelled holiday plans haven't got me down too much. I've been laying in the sun all day today and tomorrow's plan is to do the same for as long as possible!

Climax

DRESS & BOOTS Zara BELT Primark

Excuse the dodgy title but I couldn't come up with a name for this post, so i'm using the title of a song i'm completely obsessed with right now. This song has been getting me excited for my return back to London tomorrow. I honestly cannot wait to start all over again with university applications and job hunting - the lot! I've been hit with a sudden wave of sadness, however, when I think about all the friends i'll be leaving behind but I can't dwell on it too much because I hate crying! I've had a lovely weekend saying all my goodbyes and will miss so many people here in Aberdeen. This post is a lot longer than usual but i couldn't leave without mentioning a few people who've made my time in Aberdeen worthwhile so thank you NT, Agi, Sinead, Jordan, Annie, Jenna, Kirsty and all the other crazy mothertruckers!

P.S. Thank you to Nami & Gwen for my Whiskey and Haggis! :)

Leather Obsessed

CAMISOLE H&M JACKET & CLUTCH Zara LEATHER TROUSERS Miss Selfridge
SHOE-BOOTS Burberry Prorsum

I'm completely besotted with this jacket and i understand it won't be to everyone's taste but when I saw it in the sale i knew it was meant to be! The furry sleeves sold it for me! I paired the jacket with these red leather trousers to add a little pop of colour to my day. These trousers are the softest I own and will only strengthen my addiction to leather! You can never own too many leather trousers...right?!

Comfort

I bought these boots a couple of months ago from Zara but to be honest I haven't had many opportunities to wear them because it's been ridiculously cold and these shoes don't keep my feet warm enough. This was supposed to be an outfit post but I hated my face in every single picture and thought that I'd post the only decent photo taken. Many thanks to my housemate (and photographer Annie) for taking photos!

Just In

This isn't going to be a very interesting post but I haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks because i've been so busy with my new job recently. But there's always something i'm never too busy to do - SHOP! I'm supposed to be reigning in my spending but my new job isn't helping me with temptation. Here are the latest additions to my wardrobe:

Silver PU Oversized Clutch Bag - Zara

Not sure if the next one counts because my mum actually bought it for me recently but i love them so much it just had to be included...

Tan Leather Boots - FCUK

I've been having a particular obsession with hats recently and slowly but surely I will have a collection worthy of a year's free supply of goodies at Lock & Co. So far, i've collected a grand total of THREE (haha) hats. New Look, H&M, Vero Moda and ASOS have a fabulous and most importantly - an affordable - selection of fedoras and wide-brimmed hats. If you want to spend a bit more then I recommend Catarzi who have an exclusive collection at ASOS at the moment, and Helene Berman.

They look brilliant regardless of the length of your hair and always add an edge to your outfit - and remember, don't be afraid to experiment when it comes to accessories!

Zara

My obsession with Zara seriously needs some professional seeing to. But until further notice, I will continue to feed my obsession.

TRF September Lookbook '11

This lookbook for TRF @ Zara represents everything that i'm loving at the moment: leather, shearling, wide-brimmed hats, chunky knits, animal prints and gorgeous autumn hues.
