BUSTIER DRESS (worn as a top) New Look MAXI SKIRT TK Maxx WEDGES ASOS

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! I'm 21 today and today has already been such a lovely day. I haven't actually left my bed yet, so i'm going to show you what I wore to my friend's birthday on Sunday since a shot of my dressing gown and wayward hair would be too embarrassing! We went to an amazing tapas bar where we were served pinchos and the most delicious sangria ever! The weather was lovely on Sunday, and wanting to steer clear of my 'above the knee' rule for skirts and dresses I wore this lovely maxi skirt. 

I didn't ask for anything for my birthday because there is honestly nothing I want. I'm so thankful for everything i've got already and thought i'd give my mum a (short) break from my regular wish lists. I'm not celebrating my birthday properly until Friday but tonight i'm off to a magazine launch with some friends! :)

Just In

This isn't going to be a very interesting post but I haven't posted anything for a couple of weeks because i've been so busy with my new job recently. But there's always something i'm never too busy to do - SHOP! I'm supposed to be reigning in my spending but my new job isn't helping me with temptation. Here are the latest additions to my wardrobe:

I've been having a particular obsession with hats recently and slowly but surely I will have a collection worthy of a year's free supply of goodies at Lock & Co. So far, i've collected a grand total of THREE (haha) hats. New Look, H&M, Vero Moda and ASOS have a fabulous and most importantly - an affordable - selection of fedoras and wide-brimmed hats. If you want to spend a bit more then I recommend Catarzi who have an exclusive collection at ASOS at the moment, and Helene Berman.

They look brilliant regardless of the length of your hair and always add an edge to your outfit - and remember, don't be afraid to experiment when it comes to accessories!

Collar Tips

I'm always looking for new and interesting ways to accessorize or customize my outfits. So you can imagine my excitement when I came across these amazing collar tips on the ASOS website. Collar tips are already popular amongst the 'country western' types but the range at ASOS focus on adding a more delicate, feminine touch to shirts. 

Changed My Mind

So...this is the dress that i'll actually be going to the wedding in. I have never worn anything red before and so i'm taking the leap and trying something new this summer! I absolutely love the draped detailing on the dress and the asymmetric hem is just what i was looking for. There's even a frilled cape-style overlay at the back of the dress which makes it even more interesting. Oh, and this beauty is from ASOS!
