Tropic Max

BUSTIER DRESS (worn as a top) New Look MAXI SKIRT TK Maxx WEDGES ASOS

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! I'm 21 today and today has already been such a lovely day. I haven't actually left my bed yet, so i'm going to show you what I wore to my friend's birthday on Sunday since a shot of my dressing gown and wayward hair would be too embarrassing! We went to an amazing tapas bar where we were served pinchos and the most delicious sangria ever! The weather was lovely on Sunday, and wanting to steer clear of my 'above the knee' rule for skirts and dresses I wore this lovely maxi skirt.

I didn't ask for anything for my birthday because there is honestly nothing I want. I'm so thankful for everything i've got already and thought i'd give my mum a (short) break from my regular wish lists. I'm not celebrating my birthday properly until Friday but tonight i'm off to a magazine launch with some friends! :)

The Hunt

VELVET JACKET Urban Outfitters TOP Forever 21 WAXED TROUSERS Topshop BOOTS Zara SUNGLASSES Ray-Ban BAG Warehouse

Job-hunting is literally taking over my life right now and my decision to come back home was partly influenced by the fact that it would be easier to find a job in London...surprise, surprise my optimism has backfired! However, I refuse to give up and will take any job i'm offered right now. Having all this time on my hands is brilliant at the moment but I know eventually cabin-fever will set in and i'll be begging random people to employ me. The only thing keeping me going is my plan to attend basically every single festival this summer which I can't do without any moolah! Anyways, rant over, it's nearly the weekend and I can't wait to catch up with those who actually have a life Monday to Friday.

Climax

DRESS & BOOTS Zara BELT Primark

Excuse the dodgy title but I couldn't come up with a name for this post, so i'm using the title of a song i'm completely obsessed with right now. This song has been getting me excited for my return back to London tomorrow. I honestly cannot wait to start all over again with university applications and job hunting - the lot! I've been hit with a sudden wave of sadness, however, when I think about all the friends i'll be leaving behind but I can't dwell on it too much because I hate crying! I've had a lovely weekend saying all my goodbyes and will miss so many people here in Aberdeen. This post is a lot longer than usual but i couldn't leave without mentioning a few people who've made my time in Aberdeen worthwhile so thank you NT, Agi, Sinead, Jordan, Annie, Jenna, Kirsty and all the other crazy mothertruckers!

P.S. Thank you to Nami & Gwen for my Whiskey and Haggis! :)

Leather Obsessed

CAMISOLE H&M JACKET & CLUTCH Zara LEATHER TROUSERS Miss Selfridge
SHOE-BOOTS Burberry Prorsum

I'm completely besotted with this jacket and i understand it won't be to everyone's taste but when I saw it in the sale i knew it was meant to be! The furry sleeves sold it for me! I paired the jacket with these red leather trousers to add a little pop of colour to my day. These trousers are the softest I own and will only strengthen my addiction to leather! You can never own too many leather trousers...right?!

Ruby

LIPS 'Ruby Woo' by Mac
COLLAR NECKLACE Forever 21 LACE SHIRT New Look JUMPER H&M TROUSERS & COURTS Zara

After looking at reviews on blogs and youtube, i finally took the plunge and bought the Ruby Woo shade of lipstick by Mac and boy was I glad i did! I was a little sceptical about the 'suits-all' shade because there have been other lipsticks which have promised the same but haven't followed through.

Tonight I'm spending my evening doing some studying and reading for uni...oh the JOY!

Knit

CARDIGAN, NECKLACE forever 21 BLOUSE new look
COATED JEANS topshop BOOTS kurt geiger

Got this amazing knitted cardigan online at Forever 21 in the sale and it's honestly one of the sensible purchases i've made in a good while. I've worn it a few times on it's own when it's not been freezing outside but I mainly layer it under my leather jacket for extra warmth.
I've just got back from St. Andrews where I was supposed to attend a vocal workshop with my a cappella group but due to the snow it got cancelled! We decided to still go but have a day out instead which was brilliant!

Rain, Rain GO AWAY

I'm hating the weather we're having in Scotland at the moment - it really affects my whole day. So, my friend and I decided to take some photos of our outfits in and around my house. The photos were taken by my friend NT and my housemate Annie (courtesy of her beautiful Canon) and i'm really pleased at the outcome of my first ever outfit shoot. Hope everyone's weekend was better than mine!
